A taste of Provence at Domaine Terres Destel
Founded in the 1970s by a Raphaël family, the estate, whose name at the time was "Terres Hautes", gradually established its vines on the first slopes of the Esterel, some of which are still rooted in the volcanic rocks and continue to produce their famous Provence elixir.In 2000, the estate became the property of a famous motor racing driver, who fell under the spell of this protected site and its viticultural potential. For all these years, the grapes picked at maturity in September saw their destiny end in the cooperative cellar tanks.
It wasn't until 2010, when Philippe Polette acquired the estate under its new name of "Terres Destel", that it was finally able to vinify and mature its wines in a new cellar built in the heart of the vineyard.25 hectares of fully enclosed land, including 12 hectares of vines, are now used to produce "Terres Destel" wines right up to bottling, and tasting them in the cellar is a privileged moment for wine lovers who want to learn more about the complexity of this terroir...
